Amazon acquires Wall Food stores for $ 13.7 billion

A new step from Amazon to the food market announced today by the acquisition of Whole Foods, a food chain with a $ 13.7 billion deal.

“People love Whole Foods because they are one of the best places to provide organic and natural food products. They have been doing great work for 40 years and we want it to continue,” Amazon said in an official statement.

Amazon said Whole Foods CEO John Mackie will remain in office and stores will continue to operate with the same brand as their current brand, without any changes to vendors or partners worldwide.

The deal is due to be closed before the end of this year 2017, after the approval of the shareholders and the termination of some regulatory matters.
